Guest policy - a reminder
It is important not to invite guests whose business overlaps with an existing member. Please check first to avoid embarrassment.
When inviting guests to regular meetings, their name, company name and trade/profession details must be provided to the relevant committee member. Where there is a conflict, the member concerned must advise their guest that they are unable to attend.
Revised charging for guests
The breakfast charge for guests no longer applies so guests may attend up to two breakfasts free. Members should invite guests whose profession may qualify them for membership (should they choose to apply) and not those whose business clashes with an existing member.
The Mentor Academy
The Mentor Academy is RBC's initiative to give back to the business community something of our collective experience. It will mentor one person every six months.
The qualifiers will be based on their individual qualities, not on those of their business. The person chosen has to be coachable, approachable, able to receive advice and must be an appropriate person to receive the gift of mentoring being offered. They must have an idea that works in a business environment. They must also be able to offer something back to the group.
The selection of each applicant will be made by the members of the Mentoring committee and applications from all areas will be accepted as long as they meet the above criteria.
